On Saturday 28th March 2015 the Southern Aussie Muscle car club hosted its 4th annual Aussie Muscle Mania event at the Croydon Lodge in Gore.
Once again the weather was a bit rubbish for the show. We had a steady stream of vehicles coming in all day and finished up with a total of 65 cars on display – a huge thanks to everyone that took the time out to bring their cars along! Despite the crap weather we still had a lot of foot traffic coming through as well. This year we were donating the gate takings (gold coin donation) to the Gore Volunteer Fire Brigade, who also came along with a fire engine and put on an impressive display on how to deal (and not deal) with a stove top fire – (don’t drink and fry people!!). The total amount raised was $600 - so a great effort everyone.
Luckily the public bar was open and the fire going, so while the downpour was going on outside the attendees stayed nice and warm whilst grabbing a bite to eat and a drink.
Come 2pm we were ready to head off on our cruise – the weather had also cleared by then as well! This year a fantastic turnout with almost 50 of the 65 partaking! We headed out from the Lodge in convoy and headed down the main street for the all-important ‘dome’ before heading to Riversdale Hotel for a refreshment. After there we then took the backroads through to Balfour Tavern for a couple more ‘refreshments’ before finally heading back to the lodge for the prize giving.
We had a ton of prizes to give out this year thanks to all the local businesses that sponsored this event:
A huge thanks to these businesses, please support them when you can…
